A paint job is only as good as the preparation behind it, and preparation is exactly where most contractors cut corners. Not Kaje. Our painting process begins long before a brush touches a wall — with patching, sanding, priming, and protecting every surface that shouldn't be painted with the same care we'd bring to our own homes.

Interior painting starts with a thorough walkthrough to assess wall condition. We fill nail holes, skim over drywall imperfections, sand smooth, and spot-prime before the first full coat goes on. Caulking is applied fresh where trim meets walls, where baseboards meet floors, and wherever gaps have developed over time. A paint job over un-caulked gaps will never look truly finished — and ours always does.

We use premium paint products from professional-grade lines that offer superior coverage, washability, and color retention. Two finish coats are standard; high-traffic areas or dramatic color changes may receive an additional coat to ensure complete, even coverage. We cut edges by hand with precision brushwork — no tape masking painted over poorly aligned edges, no roller splatter on trim or ceilings.

Cabinet painting deserves special mention. This is a finish that takes abuse daily and needs to be done with the right primer, the right topcoat, and proper dry time between coats. We use a spray or brush-and-roll technique suited to the cabinet style to achieve a furniture-quality finish that won't chip, peel, or show brush marks.

Exterior painting at Kaje follows the same standard of preparation: power washing, scraping loose paint, spot-priming bare wood, caulking trim and siding gaps, and then applying exterior-grade paint in conditions suited to proper adhesion and cure. We never paint over moisture, never skip the primer on bare wood, and we never rush a coat dry to get off a job site faster.
